It’s well known that breastfeeding is a healthy option both for mothers and for babies. There is far less chance of gastro-enteritis in breastfed babies and breast milk is undoubtedly the best food for newborns. No artificial replacement can support a baby’s immune system and physical development as fully.

Once, it was considered something to be kept out of sight but times are slowly changing and these days most people acknowledge that there is nothing more natural than a mother breastfeeding her child, no matter where they might be. Of the last few decades a lot of progress has been made- it’s easier than every before to breastfeed. More support is available to today’s new mothers and public money now funds a number of initiatives designed to encourage the practice and make sure mums can do it with the minimum of difficulty.

You can feel comfortable breastfeeding in public. There are regulations in place to ensure breastfeeding is recognised and respected anywhere in the UK and in most cafes, restaurants and parks breastfeeding won’t raise so much as an eyebrow. Partly that’s because of changing attitudes and greater education on the subject, but specially designed breastfeeding tops also help.

Breastfeeding tops are tailored to allow easy access to the breast without the need to uncover more than necessary. They make it much simpler to nurse your baby in public- it’s less awkward and more comfortable both for you and the little one. The range of breastfeeding clothes available is getting bigger every day, as the practice gets more and more popular and demand grows.

There are a huge variety of breastfeeding tops available ranging from the very casual to elegant blouses suitable for dinner at a nice restaurant. Other breastfeeding clothes are also arriving on the market- dresses and knits jumpers for example. Hopefully the trend will continue and breastfeeding continue to grow!
